The Light Within

About the artwork

The Light Within tells the story of a person searching for direction. The lantern represents hope, knowledge and the inner strength that helps us continue when the path ahead is unclear. Rather than portraying the light as something coming from outside, the work suggests that people often carry their own source of strength. The child/person and the lantern exist together as though the figure is both seeking light and becoming a carrier of light. The painting communicates a simple message: Even when the path is uncertain, there is always a light within us that can guide the way.
